Another New York Fashion Week has come and gone, and with it, another set of beauty looks to break down. Here’s the thing: we’re tired of seeing “no-makeup makeup” at NYFW. We get it, your models are naturally gorgeous, with their healthy, glowing skin and the kind of bone structure that makes contouring completely unnecessary. But makeup isn’t just about looking pretty. It’s an art, it’s about making a statement. Some of our favorite beauty looks from NYFW did exactly that. The makeup at Victoria Beckham and Cushnie et Ochs was bold and colorful, and we couldn’t resist recreating the looks ourselves.
Victoria Beckham
This look, inspired by Victoria Beckham’s Spring 2017 show, is all about the eyes. A natural-looking face and a nude lip let the eyes take center stage with a daring swipe of blue on the lids and a dash of silver liner on the bottom lash line. We took the liberty of adding blue mascara, because why not go above and beyond?
Cushnie et Ochs
Cushnie et Ochs played with a statement lip at NYFW by using two almost-but-not-quite-the-same lip colors. This subtle, two-toned effect plays with your eyes and calls attention to the lips in a big way. So, the next time you can’t decide between two killer lip colors? Good news: you can wear both at once. Treat yo’ self.
Makeup shouldn’t take a backseat at NYFW—it’s just as much part of the show as the clothes, accessories, set design, models, and music. This is a no-no-makeup-makeup zone. Got it? Good.
