Maya Seri - Editor in chief

Hello! My name is Maya Seri and I am a senior VMA student. I first joined EM Magazine in the Fall of 2020 on the photo team - I’ve been with EM ever since. Last year, Drew Mitchell and I were co-photo directors together and now I’m so excited to lead this team with him! I absolutely adore photography and film, and I have Emerson to thank for turning me into quite the film nerd (let’s be friends on Letterboxd @mayaeseri). I’m looking forward to this year with EM, the magazine has really shaped my time here at school and I’m so thankful to create with and learn from this amazing team of creatives!

Drew Mitchell - Editor in chief

Hey! I’m Drew and I’m a senior Visual and Media Arts Production major from Brookfield, Connecticut. I joined EM the spring of my freshman year and since then have been the co-photo director for the past 2 issues with my wonderful partner in crime, Maya Seri. I could not be more thrilled to be co-editor in chief for the fall semester! To me, EM is a safe place of expression and community, and I cannot wait to see the work we produce. LET’S MAKE IT THE BEST ONE YET. Much love

Mariyam quaisar - Managing Director

Hi! I’m Mariyam, a journalism and business of creative enterprises dual-degree student at Emerson. Writing has been a passion of mine for years, and exploring different facets of expression within written work is very exciting for me. When I started EM as a writer, the concept of producing unique work that reflects a person and their experiences immediately caught my eye. While I love writing news and opinion pieces, EM gave me a chance to explore my creative abilities. I’m honored to be a part of the project’s behind-the-scenes, and especially to work with such an uplifting and creative group.

Annabelle Adams - Editorial Director

Hey everyone! My name is Annabelle and I am a junior at Emerson studying Writing, Literature and Publishing. EM has been my favorite publication on campus since I came to Emerson, and I was so happy to join the writing staff in Spring 2023. It is truly amazing to now be on the board as Editorial Director. I love to communicate through storytelling and build connections between people with words, which is why I aim to give our readers a space to engage with their emotions between the pages of our magazine. As Editorial Director, I want to help my fellow creators discover the intimate truths beneath their ideas and create meaningful art to share with our audience.

Jonah Hondari - Photo Director

Hi I’m Jonah Hodari and I’m a junior VMA major focusing on filmmaking and photography. After two years at Emerson along with some time abroad I’m excited to bring my love for photography, art curation, and art history to the EM staff. I want for this publication to remain a product of diverse, authentic, and rich artistic voices and I know great things are to come. This is my second year with EM Mag as a photographer and I’m looking forward to my first year and issue as co photo director (coming soon)!

Lida Everhart - Photo Director

Hi there! I’m Lida. I’m a Media Arts Production major And a Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality studies minor. I’ve spent my time at Emerson on student film sets and contributing to campus magazines. I’ve been on the Em Mag photo team since the fall semester of my sophomore year, and have had so much fun crafting photo series using experimental techniques like collage and sculpture! I’m so excited to be stepping into the role as co-photo director, I can’t wait to see what our photo team comes up with this semester.

Mason Vaughan - visual arts director

Hi! My name is Mason, and I transferred to Emerson from SCAD last year. I am a junior VMA student, though I focus mostly in visual arts as well as composing. Em Mag was the first organization I joined when I first transferred last year, and being able to create and see my work published alongside my peers was a very rewarding opportunity. I love combining my photo/visual work into mixed media art, and I’m very excited to be able to work with the visual arts team and see everyone bring their creative visions to fruition.
